This guide will introduce you to geospatial technology and the related services available to you from the HBLL

Geospatial Services & Training

The Harold B. Lee Library has a lab on the second floor dedicated to helping the campus community learn and use geospatial technology.  It is located in room 2421 on the second floor.  Find it here.

Lab hours are M-F 8am-4:30pm.  During those hours, there will be somebody in the lab to help you with subjects like these:

  • Geographic Information Systems
  • Spatial Analysis
  • Data management, creation, and researching
  • Creating custom maps

Also ask about creating mobile map apps and web maps!

Online Esri Training

Through BYU's ArcGIS Online subscription, students and faculty have free access to a number of different online training courses offered through Esri's Virtual Campus.  Examples of courses include:

  • Orthorectifying Satellite Imagery Using ArcGIS
  • Archiving data in a Multiuser Geodatabase
  • Distance Analysis using ArcGIS
  • Learning ArcGIS Desktop

Browse through the offerings here, and then send an email to geospatial@byu.edu to request permission for access to the training catalog. 

Lab Administrator
