General Information

  • Due date for submitting both the PDF copy of your poster and your three-minute video presentation describing your research project is 5:00 pm Friday, March 5, 2021. After you register for the competition, you will be sent a link to a Box folder that you can upload your poster PDF and video presentation file. If you have any problems uploading your PDF or video presentation, please contact Mike Goates at michael_goates@byu.edu
  • You will have the opportunity to submit your poster and three-minute video presentation to BYU's ScholarsArchive, an online open access repository that will display your poster video presentation and provide a permanent link that you can included in a résumé.
  • Video presentations: Poster presenters can submit a three-minute video of themselves describing their research project (similar to a Three Minute Thesis presentation). Each poster should only have one video presentation. The purpose of this video presentation is to succinctly describe your research project to a general academic audience. The competition judges will be evaluating these three-minute videos to determine the awards for the video presentations.
  • Peer Choice Awards will be determined by poster competition registrants. Each registrant will be able to vote for their favorite poster and video presentation. Registrants will only receive one ballot per submission and must vote for a poster and presentation that is not their own submission (self-votes will be disqualified). An online ballot and link to all posters and video presentations will be emailed to all registrants on March 8, 2021.
  • Zoom online awards ceremony: Winners of both the poster design and the three-minute presentation portions of the competition will be announced during a Zoom online awards ceremony on Thursday, March 25, 2021 at 2:00 pm
