3d Scanning Guide: Laser Scanner

Overview

Laser scanner is a FARO xP head, with a 2 meter Quantum Max arm.
The resulting file is usually an .stl or .obj, but other options such as .step and .iges are available.
Shiny objects can be difficult to scan well and may require the use of a dulling spray. Transparent or translucent will not scan unless coated with an opaque coating. Dulling spray may help.
