2D Scanning Services : Home

For Makerspace

2D Scanning Options

At the Makerspace we have three different options for large format 2D scanning. We have a:

- Flatbed Scanner

- Rolling Scanner

- Copy Stand

All scanning services in the Makerspace are free to use.

There is no reservation system so it is first come first serve.

Flatbed Scanner

The flatbed scanner has a print bed of 18.5" by 25". It is a WideTek25.

Any medium that isn't ink or marker should be covered in our Mylar to prevent scratching the glass or transferring residue to other patron materials. Newspaper also needs to be put in Mylar.

Copy Stand

The copy stand has a range up to 45" by 34" and uses a medium format Fuji GFX 100s 100 megapixel camera.

The copy stand's biggest selling point is that it can photograph glossy media without leaving a glare because it is cross polarized.

Rolling Scanner

The rolling scanner can accommodate media up to 60" wide but it can only scan 56" wide. Length is determined by file size but we have scanned items exceeding 20ft. It can also accept media up to 0.7" thick. Not all media can safely go through the rolling scanner it may damage the media or the scanner.

It is a Colortrac SmartLF Gx+ T56.
