Everyday Innovators: See a problem, create a solution
As children of the Master Creator, we all have been given the capacity and desire to create, to make things better, to solve problems that face us or our fellow beings.
“No matter our talents, education, backgrounds, or abilities, we each have an inherent wish to create something that did not exist before.” (President Dieter F. Uchtdorf, October, 2008)
It is not hard to find students that are creating solutions to various problems, some as part of a formal learning experience such as a capstone project, and others on their own initiative. Some solutions may become patented commercial products; others will simply make life a little easier. We would like to see examples of these different types of “everyday innovators.”
