Choosing Your Major:

• The registration page will ask for your major.

• You’ll be assigned a subject librarian based on the major you select.

Tips for Selecting Your Major:

• If your paper topic matches your declared major, choose your declared major.

• If your paper topic is different from your major and you want help with your paper, choose the major that fits your topic.

• If your paper topic is different but you want help in your declared major, select your declared major.

On Friday, January 31st, you’ll receive a notification email at your BYU student Outlook account (@byu.edu) with your workshop details and how to attend.

If we couldn’t schedule a workshop at your preferred times, you’ll get an email with a link to choose another workshop or set up a 1-on-1 session with a subject librarian.

Need to switch majors for a different librarian? Email us ASAP at library_instruction@byu.edu.

If you don’t receive any notification email, please contact us at library_instruction@byu.edu.

Workshops will be held February 3rd to the 14th.

If you need to change your workshop day, do not worry! Your notification email contains instructions for choosing a different workshop time or scheduling 1-on-1 time with your subject librarian. 

If you missed your workshop day, you will receive an email with instructions to choose a new workshop time or schedule 1-on-1 time with your subject librarian.

If you forgot to sign up by January 26th, you can still sign up for a workshop or schedule 1-on-1 time with your subject librarian by going to instruction.lib.byu.edu on or after January 31st.

We recommend signing up early, as some workshops are held sooner than others!
