You can place holds on items that are checked out and on items that are on the shelf. Items on the shelf will be retrieved within 24 hours and held at General Help/Circulation Desk on Level 3 for pickup. For more information about holds go to https://lib.byu.edu/faq/244799/.
The L. Tom Perry Special Collections offers access to primary resources and rare, one-of-a-kind materials on level 2 of the library. They also provide digital online access to some of their collections via the library website. BYU graduate students may check out up to 75 items for a period of 13 weeks, and renew items online two times. For more information about borrowing privileges

You may check out materials at the General Help/Circulation Desk on Level 3 or at any of the Help Desks located on each level of the library. There are also self-checkout machines available on Level 3 near the south entrance and the General Help Desk.
Request books and articles from other libraries via Interlibrary Loan (ILL). In most cases you can make the request from the database or catalog you are searching in by clicking on the icon for ILL or "Get it at BYU." Books are typically available for pick up within 5-7 business days.
Articles are typically ready to download within 2-3 business days.
