Museum collections are a great place to look for information on a specific artwork. If you know that a museum owns an artwork you're researching and you're looking for more detailed information on the artwork than is offered on the website and you aren't able to find it via another source (like provenance, exhibition history, condition, etc.) reach out to the museum via email! Often, you will get a response.
