Linguistic Corpora

Datenbank für Gesprochenes Deutsch - DGD (Database for Spoken German) These corpora present spoken German in varying registers: research and teaching (FOLK), German dialects (Zwimer-Corpus), German idiomatic speech (Pfeffer-Corpus), contrastive scientific speech (GWSS) and "Deutsch Heute" (DH). Products of the Leibniz Institute for German Language. German and English interfaces.
Das Deutsche Referenzkorpus - DeReKo The largest collection of German-language corpora on earth as an empirical basis for linguistic research. Over 50 billion written words collected from belles lettres, scientific texts, newspapers, and a broad palette of further text types.
Korpora im DWDS (Corpora in German Vocabulary 1600 till the Present) An access portal to German-language to reference corpora, newspaper corpora, web corpora, special corpora and metacorpora. There are separate note of open corpora versus those corpora requiring registration (but not subscription payments).

Literary Corpora or Concordances

Deutsches Textarchiv (DTA) - Kernkorpus (German Text Archive - Key Corpus) A multidisciplinary but belles-lettres-heavy compilation of ca. 1500 texts from the early 16th to the early 20th century. They were selected for their significance in the development of the modern German language. Downloadable as a body or as individual texts.
Oxford Text Archive The Oxford Text Archive claims to be the oldest continuously operating archive of electronic data for literary and linguistic research. The OTA has played a key role in the development of the digital humanities, the Text Encoding Initiative, the Arts and Humanities Data Service, and CLARIN (Common Languages Resources and Technology Infrastructure). The OTA hosts and makes available more than 4000 electronic texts in English, French, German and Latin.
